Dear members!
Tuulimäki has been quite crowded this fall, although Wednesday and Saturday seem to be the most popular days. On Mondays, the hall would seem to be a little more spacious, so that day could be used more diligently. The number of members of the club had decreased a bit during the corona, but now that the corona situation has calmed down a bit, we have gotten back on the path of growth.
There are a few club activities in the coming weeks, first on 5.11 is the Tuulimäki autumn competition, which is already full as I write this. Of course some volunteers would be needed for the arrangements, first on Friday 4.11 at 18:00, then we will set the hall in competition condition, i.e. we will move tables, chairs and put up targets, etc… Helping hands would be needed for this, so hopefully many people will be there already on Friday. Then, on Saturday, we would also need volunteers for the arrangements, e.g. to a coffee shop, a target group. Those interested could register with Jaakko at jaakko@hood-espoo.fi. Even first-timers can join, guidance is provided for all tasks.
Hood Autumn meeting 16.11.2022 at 19:00 in Tuulimäki (there will be a separate invitation for this), i.e. the chairman, the board of directors will be elected, next year’s budget and action plan will be confirmed.
Shift exceptions: Unfortunately, there are several days in November when you can’t shoot at Tuulimäki. First 5.11. Tuulimäki competition next 9.-13.11 Maintenance of air gun target equipment, when we partially get to our own shifts and approx. ½ hall available. This will be announced in more detail in the WhatsApp group. In addition, 18.-20.11 ESF’s competitions, when the hall is not at our disposal either.
Due to maintenance, the November Divari contest had to be moved to Sunday 27.11.22 at 13:00.
The medal coffees on Wednesday 30.11 at 18:00 will celebrate shooters who were successful in last summer’s international arenas: Jere Forsberg won the EC gold in the EC para archery championships and Anna-Leena Grönqvist won the bronze in the veteran category of the EBHC 2022 championships.
Beginners, trial and group shifts run normally. We are also planning a new coaching/guidance group for those who compete and/or are willing starting to compete. This would be low-threshold coaching aimed at starting a competitive career or guided coaching for those already competing. The idea would be for the coach to support the shooters for approx. 2 hours a week. If you are interested in this, let me know your interest at ari@hood-espoo.fi. Note All types of disciplines. Let’s see if such a group could be assembled.
Scholarship applications: I also remind the members about scholarship applications. Hood has traditionally remembered the club’s junior shooters with scholarships as a rule, the Board hopes for free-form scholarship applications by the end of November, which justify why the shooter should be remembered with a scholarship.
I also remind you that we have also reserved one morning shift on Tuesdays from 8 to 10 am until the end of the year, if there is a need, we can also add another weekday morning shift.
If there are willing new instructors and/or coaches, let us know, so we can organize training and opportunities for guidance activities. Hood pays an hourly wage to all of its tutors, so the work is well suited for e.g. students.
We try to announce other autumn events on the web, on Hood’s Facebook page and on the WhatsApp channel (https://chat.whatsapp.com/J5RVAFSxAHeJyTpDIAFLWT).
Happy autumn continuation to all members!
