Junior and Youth Groups


  • Ideal for 8-13 year olds
  • Two separate junior groups
  • Max group size 10
  • Each group trains once per week. Group 1 on Mondays 16:00 – 17:30, Group 2 on Thursdays 15:30 – 17:00.
  • It’s possible to join both groups.
  • The fee per group is 15 € per month.

Group instructor is Marja Raisoma.

The main goal in this group is to improve the physical and athletic development of the young archers through archery. The secondary goal is to encourage young archers towards competitive archery.

The group focuses on the Olympic recurve bow, other bow types are possible. In addition to the shooting, the training includes a broad variety of exercises to improve balance, hand-eye coordination and general motoric skills.

  • Max group size 10
  • The group trains twice per week during the indoor season, on Wednesdays 16:00 – 18:00 and on Saturdays 13:30 – 15:00.
  • The fee for training in the group is 30 € per month.

The main goal in the Youth group is to encourage and help the archers to become competitive athletes while ensuring a balanced physical progress with additional physical training

The participating archers are expected to have a desire to progress in archery and present a willingness to commit to the additional and supportive physical and motoric training.

The group trains primarily shooting the Olympic recurve bow. Other bow disciplines are possible in case the archer has an intent to reach a competitive level in the discipline.

Competitive Youth Group

  • Competitive training group
  • For young archers of all ages
  • Group members participate also training in either Youth or Junior groups
  • Training on Sundays 14:00-16:00
  • The fee for competitive training in the group is 20 € per month.

Group instructor is Robin Hood Head Coach Jaakko Setälä.

The main goal in the Competitive group is to support the archers to reach the national level in competitive archery.

The Competitive group is targeted to young archers who follow a disciplined training programme and who aim to reach the national top level.

To help the archers reach this level, training in this group is individual and seeks to coach the archers through exercises that are designed to support competitive performance.

The group instructors propose archers to their training groups to the Robin Hood Head Coach, who ultimately makes the decision.

Scolarships and grants

A talented archer with limited financial means can apply for a training grant. The Robin Hood Club board may award a full or partial grant to compensate, up to 40 € / month together with a club bow, for the costs of additional Junior-, Youth- or Competitive training.

An eligible archer needs to be motivated for the training and show commitment to the personal qualities required in the training group in question.

Equipment rental

If needed, archers in the Junior Group have a possibility to rent a proper bow for 10 € / month. The bows are primarily target recurves, other bows can be made available as well. A deposit of 100 EUR is required for borrowing a bow and a set of arrows.
